Took me 6 months to figure out why my night guard kept cracking, and it was the retainer case the entire time
I went through 4 night guards in about 6 months. My dentist in Tucson kept telling me I must be grinding harder, so I paid $180 for a thicker one. Cracked in 3 weeks. I finally brought the case in to show her and she turned it over and just kind of laughed. The little vents on the bottom were letting the guard sit in a tiny puddle of water every night, and that plastic gets brittle when it stays wet. Swapped to a dry case with a lid for $12 and the next guard lasted over a year. Has anyone else had a case mess up their guard, or is this just a me problem?
