Went from a manual brush to a $40 electric one last March and my cleaning checkups tell a whole story
Used to scrub hard with a manual brush for maybe 45 seconds, figured more force meant cleaner teeth. Then my hygienist in Boise kept finding plaque along the gumline at every visit, three checkups in a row. Switched to an electric brush with a timer in March and suddenly I'm brushing for the full two minutes without even thinking about it. Has anyone else noticed their dentist actually comments on the difference, or is it just me?

Three checkups in a row with plaque along the gumline and nobody told you to ease up on the scrubbing? That blows my mind. Forty five seconds of hard scrubbing feels like it should do something, but I guess it just polishes the same four teeth while the gums get shredded. The timer thing is what got me too, you stop guessing and just stand there until it buzzes.

Soft brush fixed my gums. Still plaque though.
