Found a trick for bleeding injectors on a 7.3 that saved my afternoon
I was stuck on a 2001 Ford 7.3 in Tulsa that wouldn't fire after an injector swap... kept cranking and nothing. Tried cracking the lines at the injectors but still got airlocked until I cracked the line at the high pressure oil pump instead. Has anyone else had luck with that method or is there a better way to get them primed?

My buddy Dave in Oklahoma had the same issue with his 2000 7.3 after swapping injectors. He was about to pull his hair out until he cracked that high pressure line at the oil pump, fired right up after that. Said it saved him a trip to the shop for sure.

A buddy of mine tried cracking the high pressure line at the oil pump on his 2000 7.3 and stripped the fitting clean off. That was an expensive mistake. I can't believe @laura_wilson's buddy Dave got away with it so cleanly, sounds like he got real lucky. For a 20 year old truck in Oklahoma with all that rust, cracking those HPOP lines is a gamble I wouldn't take. I usually just crank it with the valve covers off and prime the oil rail with a squirt bottle full of oil, that works every time and nothing gets jacked up. Did you have any trouble getting that fitting loose on yours, or did it break free easy?
