Found out the hard way that a diesel shop in Fargo charged me for 6 hours of labor on a 2 hour injector job
I was going through receipts from a Cummins ISX injector replacement I had done at a shop in Fargo last month and something didn't add up. The invoice showed 6.5 hours of labor but the job only took about 2 hours based on when I dropped it off and picked it up. I called and the service writer said their book time comes from a flat rate guide, not actual clock time, which I get, but 6.5 hours for one injector seems way off. Has anyone else run into shops padding flat rate times like this, and is there a standard guide you trust more than others?
