Had to choose between a full rebuild or a drop-in crate motor for a 6.0 Powerstroke that came in last month.

Went with the rebuild because the customer wanted to keep costs under $5k and we found the block was still good, but now I'm wondering if anyone has a go-to source for aftermarket head studs that won't break the bank.

What's the point of doing all that work if the heads just lift again? Seen it happen with bargain studs. Saving a couple hundred now could cost the whole job later. Just get the ARPs and sleep at night.

Sleep at night" is the goal. My wallet just has really bad insomnia.

Won't break the bank" for head studs on a 6.0 is a funny goal. Those engines are famous for blowing head gaskets with the stock bolts. If you're already in there doing a rebuild to save money, skimping on the one part that fixes the main flaw seems backwards. A cheap set might not hold the torque any better than the originals. You just did all that labor, so maybe the bank needs a little breaking for the right ARP studs.
