Lesson learned about air dryer cartridges the hard way

Last month in Tulsa I had a Freightliner come in with a wet brake line, figured it was the compressor. Replaced that, still had moisture, turned out the air dryer cartridge was 2 years past its service interval. New cartridge ran me $80 and I swapped the compressor for nothing. Now I check the dryer first on any moisture complaint, has anyone else seen this pattern where the dryer gets ignored too long?

Heard a fleet guy say dryers are the new filters, everybody skips em.
