My fuel filter housing cracked on I-80 near Lincoln and I had to limp it 9 miles with a zip tie and a hose clamp
Was heading back from a job outside Omaha in my 2006 Ram 2500 when the truck started surging and losing power around mile marker 395. Pulled over on the shoulder, popped the hood, and saw the plastic housing on the fuel filter had a hairline crack spraying diesel right onto the exhaust manifold. I wrapped it with a piece of shop rag, cinched it down with two hose clamps and a zip tie I had in the glovebox, and babied it to the next exit where a guy at a tire shop let me use his bay to swap in a spare housing I had behind the seat. Got me thinking, what's the sketchiest roadside fix you guys have pulled off to get home?

Diesel spraying on a hot exhaust manifold is insane, you were basically driving a bomb down the interstate and didn't know it. Nine miles of that is a straight up prayer. I would've been white knuckling it the whole way watching for smoke. Zip ties and hose clamps holding back a fuel leak at 60 mph is some serious redneck engineering and I mean that as a compliment.
