$40 Wacom pen died at a comic convention, can't decide if I laugh or cry
Bought a replacement stylus for my old Intuos right before Megacon Orlando. Thought I was being smart, avoiding the rental fee for a drawing tablet at the artist alley booth I was helping at. Pen worked for about 2 hours of sketching commissions, then just stopped. No pressure sensitivity, no response. Turns out the nib was fine but the internal wire gave out. Support said too old to repair. So I paid $40 to hold a brick for a day. Ended up borrowing a friend's backup tablet and my lineart looked completely different for like 6 panels. Has anyone else had a cheap accessory fail at the worst possible moment? What's your backup plan when your main setup tanks mid-show?
