A friend told me my digital art looked flat and it stung at first
They said my landscapes from a trip to Sedona had no depth, just layers stacked on top of each other. I was mad for a day, but then I looked at my files and saw they were right. I started adding more atmospheric haze and changing brush opacity in the background hills. Now I spend an extra hour just on depth in every piece. Has a blunt comment ever made you totally rework your process?

Wait, you spent a whole day mad about it... but then you actually fixed it?

Yeah, I used to think getting mad was pointless. But stewing on it actually gave me the focus to figure out the fix.

Ever notice how anger can cut through the noise and show you what really needs fixing?
