A guy at the Portland art walk spent 20 minutes on my piece and I still think about his one comment
I was showing a few digital prints at a small art walk in Portland back in April, mostly abstract stuff I made in Procreate. One guy stopped and just stared at this one piece for maybe 20 minutes without saying anything, which honestly made me nervous. When he finally spoke, he asked me where the light was coming from in the scene, and I realized I had no answer because I never really thought about it. That one question made me rethink how I build depth and shading in everything since. How do you all handle lighting in your digital work, do you plan it out first or just feel it as you go?
