Blind bought a $75 'pro' watercolor brush pack on Etsy and got 6 brushes that shed worse than my dog
So I've been trying to get into digital painting with a watercolor look, and like an idiot I thought having the right texture pack would fix everything. I dropped $75 on this brush bundle from a shop with pretty thumbnails, all watercolor-y and dreamy. Loaded them into Procreate on my iPad and within an hour bristles were literally breaking off in my strokes. Not a metaphor, the brushes had visible gaps and weird clipping artifacts every time I pushed past 80% opacity. I messaged the seller and they told me I was 'using them outside their intended range,' which like, what does that even mean for a brush. I ended up going back to a free set I found on a forum in 2022 and it outperforms the paid stuff on every single layer. Save your money and dig through free communities first, seriously. Has anyone actually found a paid brush pack worth more than $20 that doesn't fall apart mid stroke?
