During a live stream showcase, my mom asked if the dragons were tax deductible

I was streaming my latest fantasy painting for an online art event, and my mom popped in to watch. She seriously asked if the mythical creatures I drew could be claimed as business expenses on taxes. It made me see how people outside the art world interpret our creations in funny ways. Now I give a quick background on my pieces before family viewings to avoid confusion.

Man that's hilarious lol. What's the weirdest tax question you've gotten from family? I have a few freelance friends whose parents always mix up what counts as a business cost. Like, no mom, the fancy coffee I bought while working isn't the same as the actual art supplies. Your mom asking about dragons is kind of brilliant though, way more creative than the usual stuff.

Actually that dragon question was from a client, not my mom. Parents do ask some wild ones though.
