Had a week where every drawing I posted got ignored
Last Tuesday I spent like 4 hours on this cyberpunk cityscape piece and posted it to my gallery thread. Zero comments, zero likes, just dead silence. Then on Thursday I slapped together a dumb cartoon cat in like 20 minutes and it got 50 reactions overnight. I don't get how the algorithm works anymore or if people even look at high effort stuff. Has anyone else had a random sketch blow up while your serious work gets crickets?

Simple stuff always gets more love, that’s just how it goes.

Isn't it funny how the simple stuff always gets the most attention while the detailed work just sits there? Jackson is right, simple art is like comfort food for people scrolling fast. They see a dumb cartoon cat and it registers instantly, no thinking required. But a complex piece with lots of details takes a second to process, and most folks just scroll past before their brain even catches up. It's like how a simple joke always gets a bigger laugh than a long story. People browse art the same way they browse memes, looking for that quick hit of dopamine.
