I used to think digital art was just for kids until I saw a gallery show in Seattle

Last Thursday, I went to this pop-up gallery downtown and saw a series of digital portraits that completely changed my mind. The artist used a Wacom Cintiq to paint these hyper-realistic faces, but then layered in these wild, animated glitch effects that played on a loop. I stood there for like 20 minutes just watching one piece evolve. It wasn't just a picture on a screen, it was a whole experience that a regular canvas couldn't do. Has anyone else had a moment where a piece of digital art just totally flipped their opinion on the medium?

Was it one of those shows where you feel like you need a secret password to get in? I had a similar wake-up call at a museum exhibit where they projected digital art all over the walls and floor, and I realized it was way more than just hitting 'undo' a bunch of times. The whole 'living painting' thing you described is exactly what got me, it makes a still gallery feel totally different. Honestly, I'd probably still be there now if they didn't kick people out at closing time.

Actually, it was totally open to the public, no secret handshake needed. That kind of access made the whole experience feel even more special, like a gift. The magic was in how they made high tech feel welcoming to everyone.

Wow, that sounds amazing! I read an article about a digital art show in Tokyo where they used projectors to make the whole room look like an underwater forest. The writer said it felt like walking into a dream, not just looking at pictures. It really made me see how digital tools can create spaces that regular art just can't.
