My scanner settings changed after I found an old CRT monitor
Last week I pulled a 2008 ViewSonic out of storage to preview my digital paintings and suddenly noticed my color grading was way too saturated on my usual LCD, so now I'm wondering if anyone else calibrates their art on an older display before posting online?

A 2008 ViewSonic is not a reference monitor, it's just an old screen with its own problems. That thing has probably drifted so far from spec after 15 years in storage that you're now grading to its weird green tint instead of anything real. What you're calling "too saturated" on your LCD might just be your LCD being off, or it might be the CRT lying to you. A display sitting in a closet for years doesn't magically become the correct one, it just becomes a different wrong one. Calibrate with a colorimeter if you want to know which screen is telling the truth, otherwise you're just swapping one guess for another.
