Portfolio thumbnails ruined my print sales at a local show

Set up at the Fall River craft fair last month with crisp 4000px prints but tiny 200px thumbnails on my tablet, and nobody stopped because they couldn't tell what the art was from across the table. Has anyone else switched to larger previews and seen a real jump in engagement?

That bit about "nobody has the patience for that anymore" really stuck with me, @blake_kelly19. Reminds me of when I used to sell handmade birdhouses at flea markets and kept the photos small because I thought it looked classier. One guy literally picked up a house, squinted at my tiny printout, and asked if it was a dog kennel. Switched to a big laminated poster board with one giant photo and suddenly everyone wanted to talk about the bluebird vs wren entrance hole sizes. Funny how the smallest change can flip the whole vibe.

...and honestly that tracks with something bigger I've noticed everywhere lately. People don't read, they skim. They don't look, they glance. At grocery stores, at traffic lights, even on their phones, everyone's making split second calls based on the tiniest bit of info. You gave them a blurry hint of what you made and expected them to fill in the gaps, but nobody has the patience for that anymore. It's like the attention span for art got shorter while the resolution got higher. Once I started showing bigger previews at my stuff, people actually stopped and leaned in, and that's when the conversation started. Your work deserves at least a chance to be seen before someone walks past it.
