Question about the shift from hyper-realistic portraits to more abstract digital work
Three years ago, my entire feed was full of photorealism, but last month at a local gallery show in Austin, nearly every piece used bold, simple shapes and textures instead. Has anyone else seen this change in what gets featured?

Yeah, that tracks. Galleries got oversaturated with realism, so the algorithm and curators both started pushing for anything that felt fresh. Lean into the simple shapes if you're making work now, it's what gets eyes on it.

Totally agree @alex820, I've been doing the same with my own stuff and it's wild how much more engagement the basic stuff gets compared to the detailed pieces I used to slave over.

Three months back I swapped to mostly flat vector stuff on my Instagram @simonlee and my follower count jumped 40% in a month, so yeah @martinez.paul it really is the simpler stuff that connects.
