Ran some numbers on my ArtStation portfolio traffic and got a shock
I checked my ArtStation analytics last night and found out 70% of my views come from people searching specific character design terms like "cyberpunk soldier concept" instead of my name. That blew my mind because I always thought building a following was the main goal, not SEO stuff. Has anyone else noticed their art getting found through random search terms rather than their own name?

Heard a similar thing from a concept artist buddy who does freelance work. He said most of his gigs come from people finding his work through Pinterest tags on his images, not from him being known. Made me start thinking about how we all probably focus too much on Instagram followers when search engines are doing the heavy lifting for discovery.

Friend of mine had the SAME thing happen. He's a graphic designer and his most random job came from someone finding his old DeviantArt sketch through a Google image search. Instagram gave him like zero leads that month.

Oh totally. I found my best freelance client through a random Pinterest board of all places.
