Rant: My entire Procreate file corrupted during a big commission

I was working on a character portrait for a client in Seattle, about 8 hours into the final piece, when my iPad crashed. When I rebooted, the file was just a blank canvas. I had to scramble and use a 2-day-old backup from my Google Drive, losing a ton of progress. Has anyone else had a Procreate file just vanish, and what's your backup routine now?

That's the worst feeling, sorry that happened. I saw @the_spencer had a similar crash. My routine is just manual saves to cloud storage every hour now, it's a pain but worth it.

Auto backup to a spare drive saved me when my phone bricked last year. Got a cheap used android tablet just for running navigation and recording deliveries. Set it to sync to Google Drive and an SD card every time I connect to wifi. Lost two weeks of data once before that and never wanted to deal with that headache again. The SD card is the real safety net since it doesn't need internet.
