Surprised by how many artists use Procreate for serious commercial work
I was scrolling through the Behance community showcase last night and saw that over 60% of the top illustration projects were made in Procreate. That shocked me because I always thought serious commercial stuff had to be done on a desktop with Photoshop or Illustrator. I even checked a few artist interviews linked in the descriptions and they confirmed they did entire book covers and ad campaigns on an iPad. Is Procreate really that good for professional work or am I missing something about the limitations? Has anyone here switched from a desktop setup to just an iPad for client projects?

Wait, seriously, 60 percent did whole book covers on an iPad?

Heard a story from my buddy Dave about this actually. He's a graphic designer, been doing it for like 15 years. He told me he once spent a whole weekend trying to do a book cover on his iPad Pro and he just couldn't get it right, ended up using his old laptop instead. But he did mention that a ton of his younger coworkers, like the ones fresh out of school, they swear by the iPad for everything. They do whole covers, layouts, even some illustration work on it. @wesley639 it's wild how much that thing can do now, I guess if you're a digital native it just feels natural. Dave said he felt like a dinosaur after watching one of them work.

Wow, 60 percent? That's honestly hard for me to wrap my head around. I mean, I see people making art on iPads all the time, but doing a full book cover or an entire ad campaign on one, start to finish, that seems like a lot of trust in a tablet. I guess if the screen is good enough and the app handles layers and large files without crashing, maybe it works. But still, I'd be nervous about not having a proper mouse and keyboard for stuff like precise type placement or vector adjustments.
