The moment I saw my old work's before and after in a digital art reel

I was scrolling Instagram last night and came across a reel from a studio I left back in 2021. They showed a 3D render they did for a client in 2019, all flat colors and blocky shadows, then the same scene from last month. It had realistic lighting, textured wood, and reflections that actually looked like water. The difference was just night and day after they invested in a proper GPU render engine instead of relying on the CPU. Has anyone else noticed a huge leap in quality after switching up their hardware or software?

Dude, that's such a wild upgrade, I bet it felt crazy good to see that improvement.

@casey342 bet that old studio upgraded their lighting rig too, not just the hardware.

Still trying to get my own rig to do reflections like that without crashing, but so far the only upgrade I've managed is my chair.
