Unpopular opinion: I heard a pro artist say they never post full res art online
I was listening to a podcast last week where a concept artist for a big game studio said they always downscale their portfolio pieces to 1500px on the long edge before uploading. They said it stops people from stealing the work to print or sell, but still looks crisp on screens. I tried it with my latest character piece and it's a total game changer for peace of mind. Does anyone else have a specific size they stick to for posting online?

Can't believe they'd actually admit that on a podcast, @johnson.eva that's wild to think about! I always just uploaded full res without thinking twice.

Wasn't there a whole article about this in the business section last week? It said knowing when to quit a bad project is a skill a lot of leaders lack. Pat_harris is right, it's smart. The article called it the "sunk cost trap," where you keep throwing good time and money after bad just because you've already put so much in.
