Unpopular opinion: I spent 4 hours trying to copy a Procreate brush pack style and it looked awful

Honestly, I saw this amazing brush set from a big artist on Instagram and tried to do a whole piece using just those brushes. Ngl, my colors got muddy and the lines looked weirdly flat, nothing like the examples. It just made me realize I need to learn the basics of my own software, Clip Studio Paint, instead of chasing other people's tools. Has anyone else wasted a ton of time trying to copy a specific brush style and failed?

What was the main thing that felt off, was it the brush settings themselves or just how you were trying to use them? I've totally been there, getting a brush that's supposed to make things easy and it just makes a mess because my hand pressure is all wrong for it. Sometimes the brush is built for a really specific way of drawing that doesn't match your own habits at all.

Yeah, that "specific way of drawing" part hits hard.

Ugh, been there! @logan271 is right, sometimes the brush just fights your hand the whole time.
