Walked through the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo last month and noticed something weird about the art displays
All the concept sketches were pinned up with actual pushpins on cork boards, not framed behind glass. Felt way more like an artist's messy studio than a museum. Has anyone else seen digital exhibits that try to copy that raw working-space vibe?

Last July I went to a local indie comic convention and the artist alley had the exact same setup, just pushpins holding up original pages on foam boards. @adam186 they actually didn't let you touch anything but the vibe made you feel like you could if nobody was looking. That raw workspace style is spreading everywhere now, I see coffee shops putting up their menu boards on peg hooks and even some clothing stores hanging shirts from hooks in the ceiling instead of shelves. It feels like people are tired of things looking too perfect and sterile, they want that honest handmade energy.

Wait, did they let people actually touch the sketches or nah?

Hold up, are you serious? So the sketches were just hanging there, completely unprotected, and nobody said a peep about touching them? That's wild to me. I went to a comic show last year where a guy had original Jim Lee pages just clipped onto a flimsy wire with binder clips. I was too scared to even breathe near them. I saw some kid accidentally brush against a corner and the guy running the table nearly jumped over it. So either you went to the most chill convention ever or they had some serious trust in strangers that day.
