Hot take: I used to hand sand everything like a fool for 10 years

I spent a decade sanding baseboards by hand before a dude at the lumberyard in St. Louis told me to just get a palm sander with 220 grit. Now I knock out a whole room in 20 minutes instead of 4 hours. Saved my back and my sanity honestly. Anyone else waste time on the old school way before switching?

Bought a cheap belt sander at a garage sale in 2008 for 15 bucks. That thing stripped paint off a 100 year old door in like two minutes flat. Never looked back at manual sanding after that.

Read somewhere those old belt sanders last way longer than the new ones do.
