Painter's tape trick on a stripped screw hole: genius or hack job?
Had a hinge screw spinning in a chewed up hole on my kitchen cabinet in Toledo, so I jammed a strip of painter's tape in there and it bit hard, still holding 6 months later. Some guys say just drill and glue a dowel plug, others say tape is fine for light doors, so which side are you on?

Man, six months is a decent test run. But what happens when you swap that door out or the tape finally gives and the screw spins again while the door's hanging? Are you gonna remember there's tape stuffed in there, or just cuss at it all over again?
