That expensive caulk gun I laughed at my uncle for buying is actually amazing

My uncle Paul showed up to help me redo my shower in Des Moines last summer with this $60 caulk gun that looked like a spaceship. I was like seriously dude you got ripped off. But after watching him lay down a perfect bead on my tile without any drips or mess I asked to try it. Not a single squeeze wasted and the rod didn't pop back like my $8 one from Home Depot. He let me borrow it for the rest of the job and I ordered one that night. Anyone else have a tool they thought was overpriced junk until they actually used it?

The rod not popping back was my exact selling point too. Did you notice any difference in how your wrist felt after a long run with that Milwaukee versus a standard gun? I'm curious because my hands tend to cramp up on longer jobs with the cheap ones.

Your uncle's $60 caulk gun sounds ridiculous until you use one. I had the same thing with a Milwaukee caulk gun my buddy left at my place. That rod not popping back is the whole game, makes a huge difference when you're doing a whole bathroom. If you ever need to do something like baseboards or crown molding, that even pressure really adds up when you're holding it for more than a few minutes. Just keep it clean after each use, wipe the rod down with mineral spirits or it'll get gummy on you.
