TIL you can fill a 6 inch drywall hole with a $4 can of spray foam instead of 3 coats of mud
Last month I had a hole behind my toilet in my Portland house that was about 6 inches across from a old pipe repair. I used to cut a patch, tape it, and do 3 coats of joint compound over like 4 days, and it always looked lumpy anyway. This time I sprayed the cheap foam in, let it cure overnight, cut it flush with a hacksaw blade, and skimmed one thin coat of mud on top. Took me 40 minutes total and it sanded way cleaner than my old patch jobs, has anyone else tried this or am I going to regret it?
