Always used a chalk line for layout, tried a laser once, changed my mind
I was dead set against spending $80 on a laser level, figured my old chalk snap was fine. Borrowed a friend's Bosch for a kitchen cabinet install last month and the line accuracy saved me a full hour of re-measuring. Has anyone else switched and gone back?
$80 Bosch is the cheap end too, the nicer ones run $200-$300. My question is how do you handle a laser when the room is bright? I do a lot of work in sunlit additions and the beam sometimes fades out on me. Does yours stay visible or do you still keep the chalk line around for those jobs?
