Bought a $50 oscillating tool for cutting door jambs
Spent $50 on a cheap oscillating tool for floor installs and it burned out on the third cut, anyone know a brand that actually lasts for trim work?

Did you try swapping blades to a fine cut wood blade before it gave out? I burned through two cheap ones on baseboards before I realized the included blade was crap. The Harbor Freight one with a variable speed trigger lasted me a whole year doing side jobs, just had to use a decent Bosch blade with it.

That $50 price point is designed to fail, same way printers cost nothing but ink is the real money maker. Ever notice how the cheap version of any tool just tests your patience until you buy the right one?
