Finally caved and tried a laser level, now I feel dumb for resisting

For like 5 years I swore my trusty bubble level was good enough for hanging shelves and trim. Then last month I had to do a long run of picture rail in our hallway in Austin, and after the third redo I borrowed my neighbor's little cross-line laser. Set it up in 2 minutes, marked everything, and the rail came out dead straight on the first try. I still won't use it for small stuff, but for anything over 6 feet I'm a convert now. Anyone else hold out on a tool for way too long and then wish they'd bought it sooner?

Dug my old bubble level out of the truck last week for a quick shelf job and spent 20 minutes squinting at it like a fool before I gave up and grabbed the laser. Now I keep it in the kitchen drawer so I don't have to walk to the garage. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but the picture frames are finally straight so she's not complaining.
