I thought a cheap paint sprayer would be a waste, but it saved my whole weekend
I was painting my garage and almost bought a new roller set for about $40, but my friend told me to try a basic paint sprayer he had. I was sure it would be messy and not work well, so I almost said no. I ended up borrowing it and it cost me nothing but a can of paint. It took me maybe two hours to do two coats on the whole garage door and siding, work that would have taken a full day with a brush. The finish is smooth and I didn't get any drips like I thought I would. Now I'm looking at small sprayers to buy for under $100 because it made such a big difference. Has anyone else tried one for a bigger outdoor job and had it go okay?

My neighbor let me use his Wagner on my fence last fall and it was a total game changer. Why do we still bother with rollers for big jobs?

Totally get what you mean about sprayers, @blair_torres70! Rollers still have their place for smaller touch-ups or when you need a really thick coat, though.
