Just realized a basic box of 100 deck screws costs around $2 more than the same count in a 5 lb bucket because of the plastic
I was standing in the aisle at Lowe's in Toledo last Saturday with both in my hands and it finally clicked that the little plastic clamshell was costing me more than the screws. A guy walking by told me he just weighs his loose ones now and buys by the pound, and it kind of blew my mind that I never thought about it that way. Has anyone else switched to buying fasteners by weight instead of by the count, or am I the last person to figure this out?
