My neighbor in Denver keeps skipping the primer step on his outdoor paint jobs.
He's already had to repaint his fence twice in two years because the color faded and peeled. Anyone else see people cutting this corner and paying for it later?

My cousin did the same thing and his deck looks terrible now.

Yeah "looks terrible now" is exactly what happened to my buddy's shed. He used some cheap sealant from the hardware store and it peeled within a year. @martinez.paul is right about the UV thing too because that side of his shed gets blasted all afternoon. I swear the sun just decides what paint lives or dies out here. He ended up having to sand the whole thing down and start over which was a weekend he'll never get back.
