Saw a $500 mistake in my neighbor's gutter slope on a walk last Sunday

He had it pitched toward the house foundation for about 12 feet and I couldn't just walk past, so I pointed it out and now I'm wondering how many other people have gutters installed backwards without ever checking with a level?

Found 3 more spots that were off by at least half an inch"? That's wild. Half an inch is a lot when you think about how much water that adds up to over a whole roof. I swear half the houses in my neighborhood probably have this issue and nobody ever checks until the basement gets damp.

Had the same thing at my old place, water was pooling right against the slab for years before I caught it. Grabbed a 2 foot level and walked the whole house, found 3 more spots that were off by at least half an inch. It's way more common than people think, especially if the house is older or someone did the gutters themselves after a storm.
