The day I stopped using a level for my floating shelves and never looked back
I used to spend forever with a 4-foot level on every single shelf, marking pencil lines and checking three times before drilling. Then I installed a set of 5 shelves in my living room last month and the middle one kept looking crooked no matter what. My buddy who does carpentry told me to just use a laser level and a spacer block, so I borrowed his and bam, the whole job took maybe 30 minutes. Now I just eyeball the laser line and cut a spacer from scrap plywood for consistent gaps. Has anyone else ditched a basic tool for something faster that felt like cheating at first?

Honestly, have you ever spent 20 minutes chasing a level only to realize the wall itself is crooked? Laser levels are a game changer, I felt like a total pro for the first time in my life.

Dude, the crooked wall thing is way too real. I spent an hour on a shelf once and then realized the whole wall was off by like half an inch. A laser level would have saved me so much frustration. Did you get one of the basic red ones or spend up for the green?

Red ones wash out in sunlight fast so green saved my bacon on a bright job site.
