Vent: Reglazing a tub took me three days, not three hours

I thought it was a simple weekend job, but the prep for the old enamel was way more involved than the kit suggested. Had to strip it down to the metal in spots, which added two full days of work. Anyone have a better method for dealing with that stubborn, chalky old finish?

Oh man, I feel this in my soul. My own attempt at that ended with me giving up halfway through the first day. I was using this little scraper and it was like trying to chip concrete off a bowling ball. I finally just painted right over the weird spots and now my tub has these two shiny patches that look like sad, lonely eyes staring back at me.

Have you tried a paste made from baking soda and vinegar? That combo finally broke down the gunk in my tub after regular cleaners failed. Let it sit for a good hour before you scrub.

Wait, that combo actually works for you? I tried it once and it just made a fizzy mess that did nothing. I swear by a pumice stone for tub gunk, it scrapes it right off without any weird pastes. The baking soda and vinegar thing feels like a science fair project that doesn't clean in real life. Maybe my tub grime is just built different lol.
