Wasted $200 on a 'magic' paint sprayer, brush still wins

Bought that popular HVLP sprayer last spring for a fence project in Tulsa. Took 3 hours to thin the paint, mask everything, and clean the thing after. It clogged twice and left runs I had to sand down anyway. My old brush did the same fence in a day with zero cleanup headache. Has anyone else ditched a fancy tool and gone back to the basic method?

My buddy Mike bought one last year and it clogged on his deck within ten minutes, he swears by a roller now.
