A chat with a retired architect changed how I see my own drawings
I bumped into a guy named Frank at the library last week, and he used to work on big city projects. He looked at a sketch I had out and said, 'You know, a good drafter draws the space people will feel, not just the lines they'll see.' That stuck with me because I've been so focused on getting the dimensions perfect. Now I'm trying to think more about how someone will move through a room when I lay it out. Has anyone else had a simple idea shift how you approach a whole project?

Wasn't Frank a draftsman, not an architect? That's a great point about feeling the space though.

Wait, so we're taking deep life advice from a guy who might not even have been the architect? Classic. Next I'll get stock tips from the guy who fills the vending machine. But hey, if the fake architect's advice works, who cares what his business card said.

Honestly, that's the best kind of advice! It came from real experience, not just a fancy title. The truth is what matters, not the business card.
