A pipefitter in Tulsa asked why my iso drawings had no field welds marked, and I had no answer
I'd been drawing from the fab shop's spool sheets for 3 years without ever walking the rack, so every tie-in weld got tossed in a note and the fitters just guessed. He showed me 14 welds on one line that weren't on my sheet, and now I do a walkdown before I touch the pencil. How do you all mark field welds, cloud and tag or something else?
Man, I felt this in my soul. I spent my first year marking tie-ins the same way and got real good at writing "field verify" in tiny letters so nobody would ask questions. Now it's a cloud and a tag with the weld number, but the walkdown before anything gets drawn is the part that actually saves me.
