A senior drafter told me my dimension lines were a mess, and he was right
I was doing shop drawings for a steel fabricator in Cincinnati about 8 months ago and my checker pulled me aside after a review. He said my dims were technically correct but nobody could find anything without hunting, and pointed out I had 14 separate stacked dims running off one edge. He showed me how he groups dims by what the ironworker actually needs first, then runs a clean string on the outside. I redid that whole sheet set in a day and the shop foreman actually called to say thanks, which never happens. Now I sketch my dim layout on scrap before I ever touch the CAD file. Anyone else have a checker who changed how you lay out your sheets?
