Had an old union drafter tell me I was over-dimensioning my drawings and it hit different after he showed me his 30-year-old set

He pointed out I had like 50 dimensions on a simple wall section when really only 12 were needed, and now I'm rethinking if all that extra clutter actually makes things harder for the guys on site trying to read my sheets.

Real talk, less is more when the guys actually have to read it.

You know what nobody talks about in this whole less is more debate? The fact that shorter letters actually look more professional sometimes. When I see a wall of text it makes me wonder if the person even knows what they really want to say.

Yeah but here's the thing - are we talking about actual professional correspondence or just casual stuff? Because I think there's a big difference between a short email to your boss and a short text to your friend. Like where's the line between efficient and just rude?
