Had to choose between a $1200 CAD workstation upgrade or a 3-day advanced detailing course in Denver. Went with the course.

Absolutely the right call! I did the same thing last year, skipped a PC upgrade for a ceramic coating class. The workstation would just be outdated now, but I still use what I learned on every car I wash. Ray215 is totally right, that knowledge is permanent. You can always save up for parts later, but grabbing a real skill when you have the chance is huge. Have an awesome time in Denver!

Smart move. That kind of hands-on skill sticks with you forever, way longer than any piece of hardware. A new graphics card gets old in a year, but knowing how to properly correct paint or detail an engine bay? That's real value you can always use, or even turn into a side gig. The computer would just be another thing to upgrade again later.

My last paint correction attempt left more swirls than a cheap car wash, lol.

Oh man, that reminds me of when I tried to learn how to change my own oil to save money. I ended up with a stripped drain plug and a huge puddle in my driveway. Cost me twice as much to fix!
