I used to skip drawing dimensions on shop drawings, until a $2,400 change order in Tulsa changed my mind
I always figured dimensions cluttered up the sheet and the fabricators could just scale off the drawing. Then a weld shop in Tulsa called me back three days into a job because they cut 14 beams to the wrong length, and the change order came to $2,400 that came straight out of my end. Now I dimension every single part, but I still wonder if anyone else got burned before they started doing it that way?
