My $700 laser level took a dive off a 6 foot ladder, now I trust the bubble tube again
Last Tuesday in Austin, I was setting up a second floor layout and the tripod mount snapped clean off my rotary laser. It hit the concrete slab and the calibration is wrecked, so I pulled out my old 2 foot spirit level and finished the job in like 20 minutes. Honestly, the digital stuff is great until it isn't, and that little bubble never lies to me. I sent the laser in for repair, quoted $180, but I'm wondering if I should just stick with manual tools for the rest of the project. Anyone else had a pricey modern tool fail on site and go back to the old school way?
