Overheard a senior drafter in Boston call a set of prints 'unreadable' because of the line weights

It was for a basic foundation plan, and he was right, the thin lines just vanished. How do you guys pick your line weights for clarity without going overboard?

My old boss in Providence once said my line weights looked like a spider sneezed on the page. I learned the hard way that 0.18mm is basically invisible on a printed sheet. Now I stick to a solid 0.35mm for most thin lines and bump it to 0.5mm for anything that really needs to hold up. It feels a bit thick on screen, but it prints so much better. The trick is making your layers do the work so you are not manually changing every single line.

Ever tried a 0.25mm line for your main thin stuff?

Boston prints need a 0.5mm minimum for thin lines.

What happens if you go thinner than that?
