Paper space or model space for dimensions, which side are you on?

I spent 8 years doing all my dimensioning in model space out of habit, then a senior drafter in Tulsa showed me his paper space setup where viewport scaling did all the work. My old way took twice as long on multi-sheet sets and caused constant scale errors, but his method felt like starting over. Anyone else made the switch late or stuck with model space for a reason?
