Shoutout to the guy at the print shop who asked about my title block

I was picking up a set of shop drawings in Tacoma last week, and the older guy behind the counter squinted at the title block on my sheet and said, 'You know, I've seen thousands of these, and the ones that get built are always the ones where the drafter's name is filled in.' It hit different because I've been rushing and leaving that field blank for months. How much does a complete title block actually matter to the folks in the field?

Ever notice how a missing name makes people like @noahwood assume the worst? I once saw a crew install the wrong door because the spec sheet was left blank.

Honestly a checklist saved us from that mess.

That old guy's advice is solid, but it's about more than just a name. A full title block is the first thing a foreman looks at when a drawing hits the field. If the date is wrong or the revision is blank, which set are they supposed to build? I've seen guys waste half a morning tracking down the right person because the contact info was missing. It's not about pride, it's about giving them a complete roadmap so they don't have to guess.

But they should ask before building.
