The blueprint scale mixup at a shop in Nashville

I was laying out a commercial build at a shop outside Nashville and the senior drafter handed me a set at 1/4 inch scale but the base sheets were 1/8. I caught it when two dimensions didn't line up on the same wall, cost me about 3 hours of redo work. Anyone else run into mixed-scale sets from older drafters or is this just a southern thing?

Scales lie everywhere. Even grocery labels do it.
