The day my scale read 3/16th off on every door in the house
Last Tuesday I trusted my old tape ruler on a closet remodel and every single door came back 3/16th over, spent the whole week trimming and patching. Turns out my tape had stretched at the hook after 11 years of drops, anybody else ever get bit by worn tool tolerances like that?

Every pro I know keeps a cheap digital caliper just to check their tape hook every few months. A quick pull test against a known mark catches that drift before you waste a weekend.
